My name is Ed Hinerman and I’m an independent life insurance agent specializing in impaired risk cases. I’m successful beyond any goal I could have imagined 14 years ago when I called up Banner Life Insurance and asked their chief underwriter to recommend a general agent.
He asked what state I was in and I told him that I lived in Colorado but was licensed in all 50 states and really needed a GA that was strong in impaired risk and held all the same licenses. And like me they weren’t distracted like so many life insurance general agents by taking on additional products to sell as an add on. Fourteen years later I know I made the right choice. It is my intent to focus this blog on underwriting case studies and how to carve out niches where other agents don’t want to go. It is my intent to let agents know that all general agencies are not created equal and bigger is not the key to success.
