Working with CPS | Special Risk Services. Hey, welcome to the team. I’m Tim Fuller, Senior Executive Vice President here at CPS Special Risk Services, and this is a quick walkthrough of how we actually work together: contracting, underwriting, quoting, and getting paid.
We’re on the same team — if you get paid, I get paid. That means we take on the underwriting legwork, the technology, and the back-office headaches so you can focus on the client in front of you. I’m your one point of contact for anything: questions, quotes, tricky cases — call, text, or email me instead of guessing. You will never bother us.
Contracting is fast: most states aren’t pre-appointment states, so we can get your contracting moving the same day you submit your first application. One DocuSign packet, e-signed, plus a current E&O policy, a voided check for EFT, and AML training within the last 24 months.
We work with more than 40 life insurance carriers licensed in all 50 states, and every one prices health and lifestyle differently — so send us the health questionnaire and we’ll shop the case before you ever apply. Once you’re ready, most carriers support e-applications through iPipeline’s iGO platform, and Kim Fick keeps every case moving with status updates along the way.

The process
From contract to commission, step by step
01 Get contracted
Complete one SRS contracting & appointment packet through DocuSign — quick, guided, e-signed. We populate your information onto each carrier’s own contracting forms for you.
02 Set up your website login
You’ll receive an email with instructions to create your login at srsinc.com. Quoting tools, forms, contracting resources, and My Business Portal all live in one place.
03 Request a quote
Call or email Tim with the basics — date of birth, state, health class, and coverage details — or run term quotes yourself under Tools → Life Insurance Quotes.
04 Submit an application
Most carriers support e-applications through iPipeline’s iGO platform. The system won’t let you submit until every field is complete, so what lands on our desk is always ready to go.
05 Track your case
Status-change emails as underwriting progresses, an automatic pending-cases report every Friday morning, and real-time status any time in My Business Portal.
06 Get paid
Carriers pay you directly — set up EFT with each one and track commissions on their site. SRS is paid an override on the back end, so nothing comes off your agent comp.

Common questions from new agents
How fast can I actually start writing business?
Most states aren’t pre-appointment states, so contracting and underwriting move in parallel — you can submit your first application the same day you submit your contracting packet.
What if my client’s health history is complicated?
Send Tim the health questionnaire — no client name needed. He’ll shop it to underwriters at the right carriers and get you back an accurate, shoppable quote before you ever apply.
Do I have to run my own quotes?
No — call or email Tim and he’ll get you a number fast. If you’d rather run term quotes yourself, the tool is right on the website; permanent quotes are best left to us since there are more moving parts.
How and when do I get paid?
Carriers pay you directly once you set up EFT with each one. SRS is paid an override on the back end — nothing is taken out of your agent commission.
Can I sell more than life insurance?
Yes — we also wholesale annuities, disability income, long-term care, and Medicare. Ask Tim any time to set up a dedicated training session on any of them.
